Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 2026
These terms apply when you use casebound.net or buy CaseBound (“the product”) from Kevin Berry (“we”, “us”). By buying or using the product you agree to them.
1. What you are buying
CaseBound is an AI-assisted mystery-writing tool that runs in your web browser. Each edition (Author, Pro Author, Master Author) and each upgrade is a one-time purchase unless the sales page says otherwise. The features of each edition are described on the sales page.
2. Your licence
When you buy, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the product for your own writing. You may not resell, share, copy or give away the product, its documentation or its supplied reference files, or let other people use your access. Additional rights, such as agency or ghostwriting rights, apply only if you buy an upgrade that includes them, under that upgrade’s terms.
3. Your own Claude account
CaseBound works with your own Claude account. You are responsible for that account, for any subscription, usage limits or costs charged by its provider, and for following the provider’s terms. Those costs are separate from the price of CaseBound.
4. Your content
You own what you create with CaseBound. We claim no royalty, revenue share or ownership. Your work is stored in your browser, so you are responsible for saving and backing up what you want to keep.
5. Responsible use of AI
CaseBound helps you plan and draft. You decide what to keep, edit and publish. You are responsible for checking your manuscript, for the originality and quality of what you publish, and for following the rules of any platform you publish on, including any requirement to disclose AI-assisted content (for example on Amazon KDP).
6. No guarantees
We do not guarantee a finished manuscript, publication, sales, reader numbers or income. See the Earnings Disclaimer. The product is provided “as is”, and we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free or that it will work with future changes to third-party services.
7. Refunds
Our Refund Policy forms part of these terms.
8. Limits on our responsibility
To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data arising from your use of the product, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the product. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.
9. Changes
We may improve or change the product, and we may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. If you keep using the product after a change, you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
